What are the different types of adoption?
Closed Adoption: An adoption where little to no contact information and identifiable information is exchanged between parties; adoptive parent(s) receives medical records, but most everything else is kept private
Open Adoption: An adoption where contact information and identifiable information are exchanged between the birth parent(s) and adoptive parent(s); agreement might include a relationship between all parties before, during, and after the child is born
Semi-Open Adoption: A form of open adoption where less contact is directly shared between parties; identifiable information is typically kept private and an adoption professional mediates contact
